It's unpleasant, mean, hurtful. It'll upset people who are merely brightening up the area. Will you do something similar in the spring to people having the temerity to grow flowers that people might enjoy? After all, they are just doing it to 'show off'. I think an important part of participational art is to consider the outcome. The best makes people think, makes people laugh, makes people engage with the artist or the thinking behind a piece. This is non of those. It is snide, it is bullying, it is low. It is laughing a people, pointing fingers and mocking. It's cruel and shameful. You might consider drinking / popping pills earlier in your day, to take the edge off and maybe help get over yourself a little bit On the topic of this cruel and shameful act, should we also consider jailing teenagers who do prank calls as wells ? 10 years hard time ? 15 ? Also, I'm pretty sure people who hang christmas lights outside their houses beat their kids and fully support gentrification, so serves them right

I Hate Thatcher being they're usual barrel of fun. ? The 'fun' is being had at the expense of others. In my opinion, that makes it a dick thing to do.

If you were taking the piss out of Oxford St, the perpetuation of consumerism through the use of a religious festival that should be its polar opposite I could get it. But this is just taking the piss out of the little people. Well, fucking well done, you are the man you big tough graffiti guy!

I find it incredibly ironic that you are the one talking to me about being mean. I've never seen anyone on a forum who is as mean, cruel and downright nasty as you.

So? Everyone on here has a right of reply. Not only do your victims have no right of reply, you don't even have the balls to put your name on it. Which makes you a coward as well.

I think the street will be talking about it and actually have a right laugh about it. You're acting as if I'm going to spoil their Christmas.

I might've added something about the house owners dressing as elves at a certain time and standing outside their houses when final judging occurs. Would've made a great photo.

Brilliant and very funny I can't see anybody taking this badly. Come on still hate thatcher, where's your sense of humour gone? Is the Xmas shopping getting to ya? It's a harmless prank. It's all about 'keepin up with the joneses' these days with Christmas lights. I should know my fuckin neighbour keeps outdoing me! I'm off to buy some more now, Merry Christmas!

It's haughty, condescending and disdainful. Snobbery, frankly and I find these comments disappointing.

As much as i enjoy Aza 's work, i have to admit my initial gut reaction (without knowing context) was the same as Still Hate Thatcher's. I did feel a real and definite pang of sympathy for the recipients. Many people who do illuminations in my area do so for a charitable cause (collecting donations for their efforts). In my opinion, and i'm a fuckwit, context is the thing that provides the fulcrum for an artistic experiment such as this.

It's only a playful prank though, not a malicious attempt to hurt people. I do believe the residents will later laugh and joke about it.
By the way, at this point, I haven't actually delivered any of these. Perhaps I should do a poll.

Finally managed to buy a large format printer. Here is a 2 metre tall version using just 2 sheets of paper, alongside the 90x60cm canvas version. This would have taken about a thousand sheets using my old printer. Having so many sheets to align and tape together causes real annoyances, so I'm really pleased to be able to use this. Time to find a wall to ruin
