Nice work Liam, and really interesting to read about the thought process behind it. I'm not particularly familiar with Sonic Youth, but I listened to Wildflower Soul while reading your post, and it all made perfect sense. I always assumed that you arrived at particular shapes and colours for purely cosmetic reasons – are most of your pieces inspired in some way by specific songs (or films, or memories, or whatever)?

these are great and I love that you were inspired by that particular song from an album that doesn't get as much love as it deserves. I'd love to buy you a beer and have a chat about Sonic Youth. one of my favorite bands, seen them 10+ times, hung out with them a few times, Lee is a friend of the family, have a SY quote tattooed across my collar bone etc etc. so yeah, pretty obsessed and love that they've inspired you like they've always inspired me

Sonic Youth...fantastic band one of my faves from back in the day. Me too sɐǝpı ɟo uoıʇɐɹǝpǝɟ seen many times I think that piece looks great as a cluster Liam. Ive noticed in the past with some of your work about the Sonic Youth references and always meant to ask you about it, just didnt get around to it.

Very interesting to read liamsnootle, personally I'm massively into geometric shape and design and your work really strikes a chord with me. The set of 4 looks great, I love the way they phase into each other. It seems that what started as your base shape is slowly unfolding and now moving beyond the boundary of the canvas. It's a pleasure to see your work develop, for me I'm hooked

Great interview. And I like the look of Dion Horstmans' sculptures, too.

Good article too, I did always wonder where snootle came from Somehow those canvases are bigger than I thought. I know, I read dimensions and all, but in my mind they always felt more like A5 size. Seeing them in relation to a person or some furniture changed that completly. Well that, or Liam has the size of a smurf.
