Just received a print.
Rolled for postage and probably for storage previously too.
Any advice or tips on flattening for framing?

thank you. i'll give it a go in a pinch, heavy books on each corner work too - anything relatively heavy, as long as it's not pointy or it doesnt have edges that could leave dents on the paper

Just leave it somewhere flat. Allow it to unroll itself.

Just leave it somewhere flat. Allow it to unroll itself. I feel like that most Saturday mornings...

Just leave it somewhere flat. Allow it to unroll itself. this, and only this. my advice is to stand the newly untubed print upright to begin with and allow it to unfurl naturally. in time, you'll see that the print has unfurled enough to lay it down on its back so that it's only each end of the print that remains curled. gravity and patience will take care of the rest.

Let it rest as long as you can, if you rush this it'll ripple. A lot depends on how long this has sat in it's tube and how thick the paper is. You may never get the print as flat as you want it, in this case a window mount will help when framing. good luck!

has anyone here ever used poster mountain’s (postermountain.com) flattening service? i’ve heard they do amazing work. it doesn’t come cheap though plus you have to pay for shipping both ways, and on the return trip it’s shipped flat.
