Hello all, So I received a print through ebay and the global shipping program and it arrived damaged. After going back and forth and trying to figure out how to create an insurance claim I finally was able to go through paypal and it seems that I will be receiving a full refund as well as keeping the print. The Global shipping program just seems to be a nightmare. However, my next question is if the damage to the print is able to be fixed. I've heard some stories of restorers especially one in the UK that can make magic. I however am located in the USA and don't know if it is worth to try to or even possible to send it to the UK to get fixed. I don't know if anyone has any contacts in the USA that may be able to fix the damage. All that said I'm not even sure its doable or what type of cost I would be looking at. Would love to hear some thoughts. Please see the images below for the damage. As you can imagine I was devastated for the print to arrive in this condition. I have been looking for one at a reasonable price forever and the damage to the print now is just heartbreaking. At least it seems as if I will get a full refund and am left with the print even if it is damaged. Thanks for any input!

If it is, then it's probably worth restoring. I had a similar print damaged on the black part of a print and was quoted £200-£250 by Gramham Bignell in the UK. Or sell it as damaged and you would probably get £200. It's really down to whether you are happy to keep a print that's been restored or put your money into a new one.

I have been looking for one forever and think I got a great deal on it. Only to open it up and be heartbroken. At least it seems I will get my money back so it may be worth restoring if possible.

Nice print! Probably worth emailing Graham Bignell with some pics of the damage. I am sure they would give you an estimate. I would love to know the outcome if you get it done, as I have never got round to restoring mine as the print was only worth about £400-£500, so I just framed it up as it is.

It will not be worth sending to Graham Bignell from the U.S. use the one Tas mentioned or find another. They should be able to sort it out or if you get your money back find another and as mentioned flog this on as damaged

Go to Poster Mountain. That will be an easy fix for them. They are based in the Los Angeles area. If you're not within driving distance you can send it to them. I've used them once and would defiantly go back if needed. They are also reasonably priced.

I find it bizarre that you have your money back and the print

The seller got paid and fulfilled their duty which was to get it to distribution center. Once it's there the seller is no longer part of the transaction. Since it got damaged while in 'ebays' possession they become responsible. I guess to satisfy the customer they give full refund and allow you to keep damaged item.
