"SUPPOSE someone has been convicted of a serious crime, but new evidence emerges proving his innocence. Does he have a constitutional right to be freed? The answer might seem obvious, but it is far from clear that the Constitution protects an innocent person against incarceration, or even execution, if his original trial was otherwise free of defects. Despite growing awareness about the problems of unreliable witness identification, questionable forensic evidence and inadequate legal representation of indigent defendants, the Supreme Court has repeatedly declined to decide this basic question — even though some 115 prisoners have been exonerated from death row since 1989." continued at www.nytimes.com/2015/08/12/opinion/when-innocence-is-no-defense.html?ref=todayspaper&_r=1

Give it a read. It changed my view about the death penalty, and other things...

not usually a fan of "listicles" but this one is pretty intriguing: "5 Shockingly Dark Secrets Of The Art World" www.cracked.com/article_22928_5-shockingly-criminal-ways-art-world-operates.htmla snippet: "There is little legal oversight for who owns what, how much a piece of art is really worth, and where any of it actually goes, which makes keeping track of things and their exact value pretty much impossible. Thanks to the whole anonymity thing, no one knows how much this artificial inflation is affecting the art world. However, just looking at the way the prices of new artists' works keep inexplicably rising compared to the works of old masters, and the large amount of anonymous buyers and sellers in the game, we'd guess that the answer is probably measured in mountains of coke."

dude that's what one my favorite bands ever! saw him perform a few years ago - blew my mind Here are the only two pics I took of the entire production it's Simeon and Toby (From the Stooges). I shot a documentary re: "The Silver Apples". We wrapped but I think they are still raising money to finish post production. They were super cool, listening to Simeon tell stories about living in a hotel with the Mothers of Invention and being Jimi Hendrix rehearsal group for Woodstock was wild. He busted out a track of him and Jimi playing the Star Spangled Banner together... It was quite weird.

Given the Charles Krafft/Stolenspace disgrace I thought this would be a good time to mention, again, Timur Vermes, 'Look Who's Back'
Berlin, Summer 2011. Adolf Hitler wakes up on a patch of open ground, alive and well. Things have changed - no Eva Braun, no Nazi party, no war. Hitler barely recognises his beloved Fatherland, filled with immigrants and run by a woman. People certainly recognise him, albeit as a flawless impersonator who refuses to break character. The unthinkable, the inevitable happens, and the ranting Hitler goes viral, becomes a YouTube star, gets his own T.V. show, and people begin to listen. But the Fuhrer has another programme with even greater ambition - to set the country he finds a shambles back to rights. Look Who's Back stunned and then thrilled 1.5 million German readers with its fearless approach to the most taboo of subjects. Naive yet insightful, repellent yet strangely sympathetic, the revived Hitler unquestionably has a spring in his step
