Lloyd Jowers (left). The man many believe was the person behind Martin Luther King's assassination. (the King family believes he, not James Earl Ray, is behind the murder. and in fact, he was convicted in US Civil Court in 1999 of being involved along with the Federal Government in playing a part in King's assassination)

No idea, theres another photo which looks to be a different occasion and he had soup in his trolley so he may of actually liked campbell soup and genuinely bought it. Don't believe he was sponsored by them.

I always liked this one because he looks dead inside. Which when you think about it, most shoppers are.

Don't believe he was sponsored by them. I think certainly in recent years, Campbell's soup was actually sponsored by Warhol. How many of us mistakenly purchased soup, thinking we were buying some Warhol art....

In the early ’70s a Rochdale-based artist named Walter Kershaw rode his motorbike to the small town of Heywood on the peripheries of Greater Manchester to paint a large portrait of Elvis Presley on the gable end of a terraced house. The owner of the house had no problem having their wall transformed into a shrine to The King, but unfortunately, no one in the area had a photograph of Elvis to hand. The closest thing anyone had was a small picture of leather-clad chart-crooner Alvin Stardust. And so, only a day later, a brooding, slightly bizarre image of the man formerly known as Bernard William Jewry stared out onto Manchester Road.
