Hi! I'm not sure if this is the place to post this, but what do you use to store your prints to protect them while you wait to have enough money to get them all framed? I was looking at artists portfolios, but I'm not sure they're long enough for some of the pieces I have (Stik for instance)...ideas and thoughts are welcome! Thank you!!

Hi there You could buy large Acid free sleeves and then store them flat in between some board etc. I use to do this under the beds, then I would have tubes in wardrobes or cupboards driving my wife insane. I sold a lot but then found a nice plan chest (took a while) to store the remainder with acid free tissue paper. Here is the thread from a few months ago notbanksyforum.com/thread/614/built-flat-file-old-desk . If you have the room a plan chest is the way to go, will look good in your house also, if you are in UK lots of nice examples for sale on gumtree/ebay etc. Cheers

as a general rule is it better to store prints flat rather than in tubes? Tubes are ok for a little while, but flat is always best. Edit: I had an extremely low edition Cauty print that was in a tube a little too long. Then my sister came along and, curious about what was in the tube, pulled the very tightly coiled print out and forcibly opened it up/flattened it to take a look at it. Wrecking the print and halving the amount of this particular print that's out there.

While we're on the subject, I don't suppose anyone in London has a spare Selwyns (or similar) A0 sleeve they would consider selling? If so, I'd be very grateful if you'd drop me a PM.

I'll dust off this thread instead of creating a new one.

Is this the most practical DIY way of storing unframed prints? Also Biyomaps seems like a good additional solution for dust/dirt/light.
Ideally the setup would be: Print, on top of board, in storage bag. Do 2 or 3 of these and keep them in a Biyomap.
Biyomap - www.biyomap-webshop.nl/en/product-categorie/biyomap-en/Is that a good setup? Is there anything else to consider? If you have other links to cheaper or better products, feel free to comment them. And regarding rolled prints, is the consensus to just unroll and lay something heavy until it naturally flattens, or is there some other pre-framing ceremony like slow backwards-rolling?
Maybe i'm overthinking this, but I was never much of a collector, I'm more of an enjoyer. Recently i've been getting into acquiring some artwork and keeping them as fresh as possible has been on my mind.

www.baroqueportfolios.com/I got myself one of those and can't complain. Moving with it was very easy as well. Only annoying thing is that it takes a while as you preorder and they only start to produce and ship when they have reached a certain number of orders.
