99% of the ones you will find are fake unfortunately.
Laz, at his may 68 show a year or so ago, had a screen of this image (no idea if it was actually from May 68) and was printing tons of these in a makeshift time capsule of the “Atelier Populaire”

You are being a bit harsh saying 99% of fakes but there is a lot of them indeed, i would say 70%.
It is still possible to grab an authentic one but inspection in person is definitly required to do a complete check of the paper quality (pristine = fake ; thick = fake ; pure white = fake ; etc...), texture, material and of course the image.

Is saw a batch of fake CRS SS recently which were perfect. They Beaux Art stamp was a real stamp with blemishes (but also a giveaway as these weren’t stamped for the most part) the paper stock was spot on,, and the prints had actually been screened... It was as good as an original, but fake. At 200€ a pop with a good back story these are being produced regularly. I have about 30. Handed down from my father, most of which he printed himself in 68...unfortunately not the Vermine Fasciste though. So if you know of a real real one hit me up !! |

Well, i guess there is no absolute proof of authenticity, only the trust you have in the provenance.
I'm not absolutely sure but I believe mine is guenine as the man which had it in the first place did may 68 himself and lived all his life near the Beaux Arts of Paris. I known him quite well, i don't think he lied (i hope not anyway !)

forgot to mention that Just Seeds has a high-res image of their version available for free download: justseeds.org/graphic/eradicate/they've got a ton of great images that they encourage people to download and use for free.. I made myself a nice shirt a little while back  coincidentally, Josh MacPhee, who redesigned the Just Seeds version, designed the cover of the new DOPE...  it's a great little affordable zine.. I have one of the vermin stickers but I'm not sure if it is the real deal. The white is a little bit different than on all the other banksy stickers I have. Does anybody has the same "problem" and knows what I mean? They don't come up often for sale and when they are often expensive  Good luck with the hunt nevertheless! |

Not the 68 years, but ( in the spirit of old flyers or posters ) I had some posters from the fight against Malville Nuclear ☢️ central ( i sung and I was playing guitars during meeting and was a combative activist ) ... This one that I have sold for few euros on eBay.fr ( French are not collectors ) , is pretty cool ( I had made it in high resolution by a professional photographer as it was my teen years ( 1975 or 76 I guess ) ..  |
