Does anyone get the impression that a lot of items on paddle8 go for way higher prices than most other places? Maybe I am being selective but I have seen some really outrageous prices things go for there when you could find them for much less elsewhere.
That is a great faile though!

Agree that something seems "off" on that site.
Starting prices on iconic pieces in each auction seem very high, with always at least 1 bidder willing to bite the bullet at that price, and seldom more than 2 or 3 making the final price on each piece
Not saying they are dubious, but it really does not look like most auctions of prints and multiples ?

I haven't purchased through p8, though I've spent more time browsing there than I probably should.
The starting bids typically seem high, but I'm not sure there aren't deals to be had occasionally. A week ago they had a RETNA Eastern Realm (gold) with a starting bid of 2K USD - and I tracked it very close to the end, and I don't think there were any takers. I don't think that would have been a bad final price for that piece.
There's a 48x48 Eine canvass on their MTV auction now with a starting bid of 6K USD, and nobody has taken the bait yet. I don't track Eine prices, but that seemed decent.

MTV:REDEFINE is just around the corner again. Just a couple of urban artists this time around - Kai & Sunny and Eine - but lots of established names like Jeremy Deller and Cindy Sherman. The catalogue is online here and you can bid live via Paddle8 on 10 April:

thanks for that - certainly 'too much' information there for me to stomach. i'm just not in the mood for those kind of people .... but hey am sure they'd inspire some folks.

Dot,
I have no experience with P8 but everything i've heard second hand is that you can not reference past pricing once an auction concludes but again am not a p8 expert or even student. I use artnet.com for my pricing searches and they pull data from most of the physical auction houses but not the online only ones. Even artnet auctions makes it difficult to see their final pricing as they don't hit their pricing feeds for a few weeks after the auction concludes but eventually they do release that data.

Dot, I have no experience with P8 but everything i've heard second hand is that you can not reference past pricing once an auction concludes but again am not a p8 expert or even student. I've been only selling on paddle 8 and have been making a killing on every auction! I don't understand it myself why people pay more? Maybe to tell friends and family that hey look at what I bought from a high end auction site. I sold a Kaws SpongBob for $8,590 that was my best sale. But buyers can send you messages and make offers just like fleabay. I thought it was a joke at first but he even paid via by bank transfer. If anyone has any questions PM me.

Just bought a Murakami at a good price at P8. Before I read this thread. Hopefully it's fine. It should be fine. Has to be.

Thanks Jeezuz. A lot of familiar "faces" here like you.
Still don't know how/why this forum came to exist, being out of the loop and all, but I sense a friendlier warm vibe for sure.
